On the 2008 gsxr-600 what is the mode switch on the right handle bar?
I finally saw the new model on you tube (the official suzuki site lacks ANY DETAIL) there was this switch on the right handlebar that said mode.
Its the S-DMS (Suzuki Drive Mode Selector)
It uses injector and spark timing to "de-tune" the horsepower for less than ideal riding conditions. The motorcycle industry is very hesitant to use the term "traction control" but the mode selector can help in that area.
It was first launched on the 1000, that's where the idea of "600, 750, and 1000 mode" came from. Slightly retarding the timing has the effect of reducing HP
